The Mermaid Country Day Camp Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) / Leadership Program is offered to young adults ages 14 and 15 who are interested in learning to work with, teach, and lead groups of children. Members of the C.I.T. / Leadership Program will receive formal training, which include activities such as group dynamics, child development, conflict resolution, role modeling and first aid training. A variety of opportunities to explore and develop leadership skills will be provided through community outreach, service activities, and outdoor leadership challenges.Students participate in daily discussions, which allow them to review their day and assess the quality of their contributions to program activities. In addition to frequent informal feedback, each C.I.T. receives a more formal evaluation of their efforts from the program staff at the end of the camp season.

- Minimum enrollment of 6 weeks required
- C.I.T. hours run 8:45 AM 4:00 PM
