Camp Jeremy:

An opportunity for transplant recipients between the ages of 6 and 16 to participate in a wide range of activities including swimming, arts & crafts, nature study, archery, athletics, tennis, beach volleyball, music,group games, and more.

The idea for Camp Jeremy was inspired by Jeremy Clemens, who received a heart transplant at age eight, and worked as a Mermaid Country Day Camp counselor for several years. His family wishes to continue Jeremy’s tradition of having transplant recipientsenjoy a week at camp. Click Click here for program and registration information. Baseball Camp:

Mermaid Country Day Camp is excited to introduce Five Tool Baseball Camp, a new developmental sports camp for young athletes ages 8-14. This week long camp will be offered in multiple sessions on full sized regulation fields, and will be run by local High School and American Legion baseball coaches and staffed with both college and high school players. The program will also include daily guest speakers such as college coaches and active division 1 NCAA players.

This full day camp will include a comprehensive skills assessment along with intensive instruction in the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, the mechanics of throwing, base running and pitching. Position specific fundamentals will also be addressed. Players will be placed on a team for the week and a live game will be played each afternoon.

Golf Camp:

Mermaid Country Day camp is excited to introduce our new Golf Camps. Taking advantage of our 9 hole, par 3 course, MCDC, along with Par Breakers Golf Academy, is offering a great opportunity for campers to learn and develop their Golfing skills.

The program will offer quality instruction by USGTF and PGA Pros in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Campers learn the fundamentals of golf, enjoy games and contests, and also use the 9 hole course to fine tune their game. Campers will be taught specific skills such as grip, set-up, full swing, pitching, chipping, and putting. They are also taught the rules of the game, golf course etiquette, and the “mental game”- thinking their way around the course.

Golf Camps are half day sessions in the mornings, 9am - 12noon, $235.00 per week. Campers also have the option of staying for Day Camp in the afternoon and enjoying activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, athletics and much more. MCDC Broadway Camp:

Mermaid Country Day Camp, collaborating with Act II Playhouse, Addicted2Dance Company, and the Ambler Theater is excited to present Broadway: Then, Now, and Beyond, a new specialty camp that goes beyond the traditional idea of a summer arts camp. This musical theatre Broadway camp, in conjunction with these Ambler cultural anchors, will provide boys and girls ages 9-14 a unique, non competitive and nurturing program run by highly trained entertainment industry professionals.

Broadway: Then, Now, and Beyond is always in the mood for playing a part! Both beginners and aspiring professionals can stand in the spotlight in our musical Broadway review at the end of the four weeks. Our actors will enjoy a friendly, safe, and active environment with a fast pace rehearsal schedule leading up to a professional looking and sounding production located at Act II Playhouse in Ambler. Besides the rehearsal schedule, our campers will immerse themselves in master classes, workshops, and guest speakers that will in turn add to their self -confidence, their leadership skills, their ability to work with others, and of course their fun!

This new program runs for 5 weeks and is a morning half day program. Campers then have the option of making it a full day by spending the afternoon at Mermaid Country Day Camp, rounding out their day with some swimming and other great activities of their choice.

Cooking Camps:

For the fourth year, Mermaid Country Day Camp, in conjunction with Kathy Wolper of Kathy's Just Desserts, will present several Cooking Camps. This venture has been very successful, and MCDC and Kathy's Just Desserts are collaborating to present even more Cooking Camps this summer!

Once again, your "cookin' kid" will work in a kitchen just like the ones you see on television cooking shows. The Cooking Camps will be held in the air-conditioned Paddock Room at The Barn.

Cooking Around the Clock - Ages 7-12

Each day, we'll feature a meal from a different time of the day - Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Dinner. July 7-11 from 9-noon.

Cooking Around the World - Ages 9-14

Featuring food from a different place in the world each day. We'll "visit" Italy , France , Asia, and the good ol' USA . July 28-August 1 from 9-noon.

Campers attending the half-day Cooking Camps are invited to spend the other half of their day at Mermaid Country Day Camp. Activities include opportunities to use the pool, climbing wall, arts & crafts, archery, and more.
